Another moment of honor and appreciation for Gilgit-Baltistan. Eight professionals and students from Gilgit-Baltistan have been selected for participation in the World Youth Festival, Russia 2024. The eight amazing sons and daughters of Gilgit-Baltistan who will represent GB in Russia are Maria Akbar, Wazir Afrasiab, Hina Khaliq Taj, Imran Ali, Iqtidar Ali, Junaid Ahmad, Barira Akbar, and Syeda Shagufta. They are among the 225 delegates selected by the National Preparatory Committee, which is formed by the Future Team Pakistan. The selection process was highly competitive, in line with a communicated selection criterion by the World Youth Festival’s organizers, and placed utmost importance on meritocracy. A total of 5000 applications were received for Pakistan alone, and the final 225 participants were selected after careful deliberation.

The World Youth Festival is the largest global youth event. The festival features a rich program, including sports, cultural, scientific, and educational events, as well as panel sessions and round tables.
It will bring together the most passionate people from all over the world. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has officially decreed that the festival will be held from March 1 to March 18, 2024, in Russia.
