Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the National Assembly will be dissolved before the 12th of next month after consultation with the allied parties. In an interview given to a private news channel, he said that the announcement of the date of next general elections is the responsibility of the Election Commission according to the constitution and law. Shahbaz Sharif said that the appointment of the caretaker prime minister will be done in consultation with the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly and before that he will consult all the allied parties and the leader of Muslim League-Nawaz Sharif. He said that Muslim League-Nawaz has formed a committee comprising Khawaja Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq and other leaders who will decide on this matter. He said that Nawaz Sharif will be the candidate of Muslim League-Nawaz for the post of prime minister.
